Getting Started

Tap the + button on the home screen to create a new game. Enter your team names and choose whether to set lineups upfront or build them as you go. PorchCast will prompt you for the starting pitcher and leadoff hitter, and you're ready to score.

Use the pitch wheel to record each pitch, or tap the microphone and call the play with your voice — try "groundout 6-3" or "single to left."

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I record a play by voice?
Tap the microphone in the center of the pitch wheel and speak naturally. PorchCast understands standard baseball scoring language like "flyout to center," "double play 6-4-3," or "strikeout looking." You'll get a confirmation before the play is recorded.
Can I undo a mistake?
Yes. Tap the undo button to step back through pitches, plays, and runner movements. PorchCast supports full undo all the way back to the start of the game.
How do I share a game live?
Tap the share button during a game and select "Live Share Game." You'll get a 6-character code that anyone can use to follow along in real time from their own device.
How do I export a box score?
Tap the share button and select "Export PDF Box Score." You'll get a professional box score with batting lines, pitching lines, and a linescore that you can send to coaches, parents, or your team.
Where is my data stored?
All game data is stored locally on your device. PorchCast does not collect or transmit any personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Does PorchCast work offline?
Yes. Scoring works entirely offline. The only feature that requires an internet connection is live game sharing.
